For Ryan Geltz, CEO of Pro Security & Automation, golf is a familiar pastime, a link to his childhood and those carefree days spent on the course with his dad. Like many, he continued to enjoy the game with friends until life, as it often does, shifted focus with the arrival of kids. Golf temporarily took a backseat. But it was a request from a client, looking to integrate a golf simulator as an addition to their smart home, that unexpectedly brought golf back into Ryan’s life and sparked a new vision for his company.

THE RISE OF AT-HOME GOLF SIMULATORS

Golf simulators have evolved from a niche luxury to a sought-after amenity in custom homes. Advancements in technology have made simulators more affordable, accurate, and compact, bringing the thrill of the golf course into any home. “Golf simulators have been around for 15 years, but they’ve continually improved,” says Ryan. “What used to cost $100,000 to get a realistic experience can now be achieved with technology the size of your cellphone.”

This accessibility, combined with the desire for year-round golfing and skill improvement, has fueled the demand for home golf simulators. “We’re seeing more and more homeowners, especially in communities like Holliday Farms, specifically requesting golf simulators in their new builds,” Ryan says.

STICK & HACK: THE INDOOR COUNTRY CLUB

Ryan’s vision extends beyond individual homes. He partnered with Stick & Hack to create a unique indoor golf club that offers a premium golfing experience and fosters a sense of community. “Stick & Hack is like an indoor country club,” Ryan explains.

“The world’s greatest golf club without a course. It’s not just about the simulators; it’s about creating a community where people can enjoy golf year-round, connect with friends, and improve their game.”

Stick & Hack offers a variety of simulators with cutting-edge features, and will soon include AI-powered training software that will provide personalized feedback to help golfers refine their swing. The facility also hosts leagues, adding a competitive element and fostering camaraderie among members.

AUTOMATION IN ACTION

Pro Security & Automation’s expertise is evident throughout Stick & Hack. They’ve seamlessly integrated automation into every aspect of the facility, from access control and lighting to audio-visual systems, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for golfers.

This same expertise translates to home installations. Pro Security works closely with builders and homeowners to design and integrate golf simulators that perfectly complement the home’s aesthetics and functionality. “We can automate everything from lighting and temperature control to entertainment systems in a home,” says Ryan. “We can even create custom designs that incorporate bars, seating areas, and other amenities to make a simulator room a true entertainment hub.”

BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

Ryan believes the future of golf simulators is bright. He envisions multi-sport simulators that cater to a variety of interests and further enhance the entertainment and training aspects. He also mentioned the rise of custom designed courses that already offer endless possibilities for golfers of all levels, with dozens more being developed each month by open source developers. “They just started TGL, which is on ESPN. It’s a golf-sim league by Tiger Woods. There is a lot of publicity and attention around golf simulators right now.”

For builders and homeowners looking to incorporate golf simulators into their projects, Ryan emphasizes the importance of early planning. “It’s really helpful to involve us in the blueprint phase,” he advises. “This allows us to optimize the room’s size and layout, ensure proper ceiling height, and integrate all the necessary technology seamlessly.”

PRO SECURITY & AUTOMATION: YOUR PARTNER IN GOLFING EXCELLENCE

Whether you’re a golf enthusiast dreaming of a home simulator or a builder looking to stay ahead of design trends, Pro Security & Automation is the ideal partner. With their expertise in smart home technology and Ryan’s passion for creating the ultimate golfing experience, they can help you bring your vision to life. As Ryan puts it, “We want to be at the forefront of in-home technology.” For many golfers, of all levels, that will mean being able to enjoy the game they love in ways they never thought possible.

For the local looking to sample a golf simulator before they integrate it into their home, Stick & Hack in Fishers offers bay rentals and seasonal golf simulator league play, along with an array of food and drink offerings from local favorites.
